Event countdown
for your website
Count down to your conference, keynote or launch. Set the date, pick a look, then paste the code into your site. No account, no cookies.
Preview
Embed code
In WordPress, paste it into a “Custom HTML” block. Anywhere else, put it in the HTML where the countdown should appear.
Ready in three steps
- 01
Set it up
Enter the title, date, time and time zone, then pick a look and a color. The preview shows the result straight away.
- 02
Embed it
Paste the code into your site, whether WordPress, another CMS or plain HTML. The countdown appears where the code is.
- 03
Time’s up
When the countdown reaches zero it shows your text, and a button to your link if you added one.
Small, quick and free
No cookies
The countdown sets no cookies and stores nothing in your readers’ browsers. Once the small script file has loaded, no data goes back to us.
Right in every time zone
You set the start in your own time zone. Every reader sees the right time left, and the date in their local time.
Add to calendar
One click puts the date into any calendar that opens .ics files, such as Apple Calendar or Outlook.
Fits your site
Light or dark, your accent color and your site’s font. On a phone everything moves closer together.
Two lines of code
Runs in WordPress, any CMS and plain HTML, without an iframe. Several countdowns on one page work too.
Free
No account, no limit, no expiry. Below the countdown is a small note that links to Livetickr.
When it starts: your live blog
A countdown announces the event. During it, most sites keep readers up to date with an article they edit by hand, again and again. With Livetickr your team posts updates from the dashboard or the app, and they appear on your site within seconds, without a reload.
Questions about the countdown
How do I add the countdown to WordPress?
Copy the code and paste it into a “Custom HTML” block in the block editor, or into the “Text” tab of the classic editor. The countdown appears in the preview and on the published page.
Does the countdown set cookies?
No. It sets no cookies and uses no browser storage. When the page loads, the browser fetches the script file from livetickr.io through our CDN, which like any file request includes the IP address. After that the script sends nothing back to us.
Which time zone do my readers see?
The countdown runs to the same moment for everyone. The date below it is shown in each reader’s local time, with the time zone’s abbreviation.
What happens when time is up?
The digits make way for your text, for example “It's on”. If you added a link, a “Watch now” button appears below it. The countdown stays like that until you remove it from your page.
Can I change the countdown later?
Yes. Set it up again here and replace the old code. We store nothing, so there is nothing to delete either.
Does the countdown cost anything?
No. It is free, without an account and without an expiry date. Below the countdown is a small “Countdown by Livetickr” note with a link to this page.
